Description
The use of pressure within a shock is often misunderstood. In truth, there are several types of pressurized shocks: high-pressure, low-pressure tri-tube, low-pressure twin-tube, and hydrid technology. The Rancho RS9000X Pro-Series shock is unique in that it is a true hybrid design featuring a tri-tube mono-flow primary shock combined with a monotube remote reservoir. (A remote reservoir is a separate, gas-charged tube offering additional oil volume for the primary shock.) And with the monotube remote reservoir, you get increased oil volume (pressurized) will provide consistent damping over a longer period of continuous use. This configuration offers the best of all worlds in terms of comfort, control and adjustability, and is particularly appropriate for vehicles used in extended off-road driving situations. The remote reservoir design allows you to package more travel into the available space for the shock. Remote reservoirs shocks do, in fact, look cool. The primary advantage of this advanced design is its adaptability to severe, extended off-road driving situations, as well as all on-road conditions.
